Q: Are lead wicks used in your candles?
A: There has been a great deal of coverage in the media regarding health issues relating to candles with lead wicks. In order to relieve any concern on the part of our customers, none of our products have lead wicks. We care for the safety and well-being of our customers and their families. We are committed to creating high quality candle products that can be enjoyed safely.
Q: How should I store my candles to keep them looking their best?
A: Candles will discolor or fade when exposed to strong light for long periods of time. We do not recommend leaving in direct sunlight. Wax can soften in temperatures over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Store candles in a cool, dry place.
Q: Why do wicks sometimes get a "mushroom shape" on the tip?
A: When the candle consumes the wax more quickly than the flame can burn, sometimes carbon deposits can develop. Usually, this happens when the wick needs to be trimmed. Extinguish the flame, and trim wicks to 1/4 inch. Relight. Do not leave wick trimmings in the wax pool, as this can be a fire hazard.
Q: How can I remove candle wax from carpet?
A: If cleaning the item yourself, allow the wax to harden completely. Chip away larger pieces of wax and remove. Using a hot steam iron and a brown paper sack free of any printed materials, lay across spilled area, and press iron firmly to paper sack until wax starts to "lift" into paper. Repeat as necessary, then shampoo with carpet cleaner.
Q: Which is your most "scented" candle?
A: All of our candles hold the maximum scent possible. Naturally some scents are stronger than others, however ALL of our candles have a strong scent throw.
Q: Why does it say to discontinue burning candles when 1/2 inch of the wax remains?
A: When the flame nears the base of the container, and most of the wax has been consumed, the glass can become overheated. This may cause the container to shatter and is a possible fire hazard. Always follow instructions for the safe use of candle products. We also recommend burning all candles on a heat resistant surface.
Q: Do you have a return policy?
A: Yes. However all returns must be pre-approved before sending back to: 2001 Ave. L, P.O. Box 852, Tahoka, TX 79373. Due to our extensive designs on each candle, and the damages that can occur during return shipments, only candles with factory defects will be accepted for returns, and only when you have obtained a pre-approval.
Q: How soon will I receive my candles after placing my order?
A: Most orders will be processed within two to five business days. Please note that Tier 3 products are all handcrafted when ordered and can take up to 3 weeks to create. Please add from two to five business days for typical UPS delivery depending upon the zone that the package is being delivered in. Essential information for all candles and wax potpourri
WARNING To Prevent Fire: Stay within view of burning candle at All TIMES. Place on a protected, heat-resistant, dry surface. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
Candles:
1. Remove all packaging before lighting.
2. Containers may become hot. Handle with care.
3. Laying a fragranced or colored candle directly on furnishings can cause surface damage.
4. Burning a candle in a draft will cause the flame to smoke. Over time this can affect home décor.
5. If an off-center flame is causing the candle to burn unevenly, simply move the extinguished wick to the center with a metal spoon handle while the wax is still soft.
6. Candles burning close to one another will affect each other’s burning quality due to their combined heat. Bear this in mind when creating decorative arrangements.
7. Although our candles may smell and look like food, they are not edible.
8. Specific usage conditions affect burn times.
9. Handle with care, glass containers are fragile. Avoid glass-to-glass contact.
10. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, or any combustible/foreign matter that might present a fire hazard.
11. Prevent possible heat damage to the surface and possible container breakage by discontinuing use when 1/2 “ of wax remains.
12. Keep all matches and lighters out of reach of children.
13. Never allow the flame to come in direct contact with the side of the container. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 “ and centered: reposition as needed by quickly moving wick back to center with a metal spoon handle. Avoid drafts or excessive vibrations. CAUTION: EXTINGUISH THE FLAME BEFORE TRIMMING THE WICK.
14. Wax and water don’t mix. If a candle is exposed to moisture, it may not re-light. Water that becomes overheated and trapped by wax can cause an explosive spattering of hot wax. Don’t leave uncovered candles outdoors overnight.
15. Votive candles are designed to liquefy while burning and must be used in an appropriate sized container. The inside of the container should be of similar size to the votive candle. Too wide of a container will leave the liquid wax too far from the flame and excess wax will remain. Our votive candles are made to consume completely. If burned free-standing, VOTIVES WILL DRIP.
16. Always remove metal tabs or clips from the bottom of the container before adding another candle.
17. If the flame seems too small and is “drowning” in the wax, extinguish it and use a potholder to pick up the votive glass to pour the excess liquid into a lined wastebasket.
18. Teach everyone in the family the rules of safe candle use.
Wax Potpourri:
1. Place one or more handfuls in a dry potpourri pot, and light the unscented tea light beneath. If using electric potpourri pots, note all warnings and usage tips before continuing.
2. To change fragrances, use a potholder to pick up the potpourri pot and pour liquid wax into a lined wastebasket. Or, you may harden the wax in a freezer and pop it out into the palm of your hand.
